Overview
Crimson Harrow-class Capital Ship is a vacuum-grown Bugvex capital organism specialized for torpedo assault. A continuous swollen body brings one dominant symbiotic attack organ, living defensive colonies and distributed senses into a common circulation. Broad muscle sheets, conductive vascular gel and three ventral pulse membranes coordinate whole-body field movement, while the tapered rear remains living tissue rather than an engine array.
Organism Profile
Dimensions & Scale
Length 425 m × Width 196 m × Height 94 m. Supplied approximate fictional overall dimensions. Width denotes maximum beam and height denotes maximum body depth; body depth describes vertical thickness, not an underwater operating depth.
Proposed living mass: approximately 2,000,000 ton (metric tons). An envelope-based concept estimate allows for soft tissues, shield growth, internal organs and partially occupied living volume; it is not measured mass.
Weapons & Armament
One dominant symbiotic attack organ serves the torpedo-assault role. A nutrient stomach feeds a muscular pump, a sensory nerve bundle coordinates release through a short living aperture, and a recovery sac supports the return to readiness. The attack organ is rooted in the host's tissue rather than built as a mounted firearm. Exact payload form, release rate, range and reserve capacity are not specified.
Eight smaller symbiotic animals form exactly four paired colonies in moist skin pockets. Shared capillaries nourish them and nerve tendrils coordinate their local defense. Biological responses include acid secretion, hooked proboscises, spores, electric mucus, photophore signaling and sacrificial gnawers. Twelve irregular sensory-defender polyps protect soft organs through ciliated feelers, tooth buds and eyes beneath translucent skin.
External Anatomy
An elongated swollen body carries a broad curved leading edge and a tapering posterior tissue mass. Overlapping dark natural shields grow from fleshy vascular roots, with substantial exposed burgundy and violet muscle, membranes and wet joint tissue between them. Ivory horn and tooth growth surrounds the living aperture and defensive folds.
The neural sensory edge, symbiont pockets, pulse membranes and internal organs belong to one continuous body. There is no separate insect head, thorax or abdomen, no crew deck plan and no rear propulsion equipment. The natural shields are secretions of living skin, not a manufactured hull.
Functional Architecture
A distributed neural web runs beneath the sensory leading edge through lateral ganglia. Several hearts near the mass center circulate blood and conductive gel. Digestive sacs, fermentation symbionts, immune organs, fat reserves, wombs, larval nurseries and isolation cysts occupy overlapping radial regions.
Microbial partners convert biomass and mineral feedstock into chemical and electrical energy. Specialized cells dissolve limited captured Cryvum fragments and redeposit thin mineral-organic reinforcement within horn tips, teeth, attack tissue and selected shield-producing glands. Assimilation remains local and biological; it does not establish phase transit or restoration of another organism's identity.

Battlefield Role
A Bugvex capital organism for concentrated torpedo assault in space. The dominant release organ, protected internal volume, sensory leading edge and whole-body movement support deliberate attacks within a brood formation. Its dependent ecology and limited local defense remain distinct from a dedicated swarm carrier's deployment role.
Life Between Stars
Deep longitudinal muscles contract in traveling peristaltic waves while conductive vascular gel couples the body to its fictional movement field. Exactly three broad ventral pulse membranes provide braking and turning. Movement belongs to the whole organism; the quiet tapered posterior has no engine array, thruster row or exhaust aperture.
The assigned domain is Space. Independent atmospheric flight, ground movement, marine operation and phase transit are not established. Attack, movement and heat recovery compete for finite metabolic reserves.
Defense Architecture
Grown chitinous shields protect selected regions while substantial soft living tissue remains exposed. Four paired symbiont colonies and twelve sensory-defender polyps cover local approaches. Distributed circulation, immune organs and isolation cysts support damage containment and recovery.
Reinforcement consumes suitable feedstock and time. The host must sustain its defensive partners as well as its main attack organ; hardened growth does not provide uninterrupted protection for every membrane or vascular root.
Operational Limits
Torpedo assault depends on nourishment, pump readiness, sensory alignment and recovery. Damaged attack tissue can remove the main contribution without destroying the whole host. Soft regions and the roots of shields, membranes and symbiotic pockets remain vulnerable.
Movement, defense, reproduction and repair compete for finite nutrients and energy. Limited Cryvum assimilation does not grant a full crystal-metal hull, unlimited regeneration, inherited memories or phase-travel capability. Weapon output, speed and endurance are not numerically specified.
Strategic Strengths
Combines a dominant torpedo-assault organ with coordinated living close defense and a distributed movement architecture. A continuous soft-and-shield body keeps mission organs tied to circulation and neural control. Limited mineral-organic reinforcement strengthens selected tissues without replacing the biological design.
Capability Assessment
Proposed fictional doctrine profile. Attack prioritizes capital torpedo assault; protection reflects local shields and nourished symbionts while acknowledging exposed soft tissues. Mobility comes from coordinated peristaltic field movement and three pulse membranes. Tactical cognition describes sensory and defensive coordination, endurance is constrained by metabolic recovery, and support reflects attacks that open opportunities for nearby brood organisms. The six scores are editorial role assessments, not measured performance.
B · 65.8
Fleet-wide concept rating, 0–100; not simulated performance. Specialized strengths do not imply an equally high overall grade. Tactical Cognition describes sensing, coordination and command. Grade is the equal-weight mean: S ≥ 90, A ≥ 75, B ≥ 60, C ≥ 45, D < 45.
Technology Level
Proposed T1 — vacuum-adapted biological spaceflight through distributed peristaltic field movement. Limited Cryvum-mineral assimilation does not establish independent phase transit or world engineering.
Weapon Class
Proposed W2 — capital-organism torpedo assault with supporting symbiotic close defense. Finite nourishment, release readiness and recovery constrain repeated attacks; world-scale destruction is not assigned.
T0 planetary · T1 system flight · T2 phase travel · T3 limited world engineering. W0 point defense · W1 ship combat · W2 heavy fleet combat · W3 strategic theater systems. Technology and weapon classes are independent of the profile grade.

Origin
This Crimson Harrow matured among torpedo-assault organisms along the Hollow Vein feeding approaches. Its distinct behavior grew through early contact with the older Hollow-Sense, the needs of eight defensive symbionts and the competing demands of its dominant attack organ and developing internal life.
Lineage & Branch

Individual History
The Mouth Before the Name — The individual recorded as Crimson Harrow-class Capital Ship matured along the Hollow Vein feeding approaches before Human observers gave its lineage a reporting name. Its early relationships grew inside and upon its body. Four paired symbiont colonies settled into moist skin pockets while twelve polyps extended the sensory leading edge into the surrounding void. The dominant attack organ demanded nutrients before the host's stomachs could supply every growing tissue equally. A neighboring older assault organism, remembered through Vein traces as Hollow-Sense, answered that hunger with a limited feeding contact and an abrupt withdrawal. Crimson learned kinship through what another body allowed it to consume.
The Traveling Contraction — Its first sustained movement carried it away from that contact. Longitudinal muscles contracted in traveling waves, blood and conductive gel linked their changing tension to the movement field, and the ventral membranes corrected a turn that the immature body had begun too sharply. Nothing at the rear could propel it independently. A symbiotic pair tightened against its pocket during the correction, registering a threat where the host had sensed only movement. Crimson learned to coordinate the defending animals with its own muscular rhythm. Their nerves connected to its body without making their hunger disappear into its own.
The First Release — At the Valreth Arc, an opposing screen held a rich feeding body beyond the brood's reach. Crimson aligned its release aperture through the leading sensory field and committed its first mature torpedo assault. The muscular pump spent the attack reserve while surrounding tissue absorbed the pressure change. The strike disrupted one part of the screen; other defenders remained able to answer. Crimson withdrew while its recovery sac and supporting circulation settled. Hollow-Sense exploited the opening and reached the feeding body first. The younger host gained a successful attack and a sharp lesson that creating access did not guarantee first nourishment.
The Nursery Across the Gap — During an earlier transition of the wandering broods, Crimson encountered Iron Maw with dependent organisms growing behind its protected folds. The carrier's slow emergence pattern differed from the assault host's urge to commit whenever its main organ was ready. Crimson guarded one exposed approach with a limited torpedo attack while smaller brood bodies moved between contacts. It could sense the movement it covered, not every life inside Iron Maw. The carrier continued its own passage, leaving Crimson with a damaged shield root and insufficient reserves for another immediate assault. Their cooperation was an interval in two lives, not ownership of one by the other.
The Veil Beside the Aperture — A later escort contact brought Void Chorus across Crimson's intended release path. The toxin organism's chemical pressure changed the defender's approach, but kin moving through the same sector prevented the capital host from using its best opening at once. Crimson held the muscular pump until the passage cleared. Its delayed assault and the escort's measured discharge created successive threats instead of interfering releases. Both recovered afterward with depleted tissues. Void Chorus did not remain permanently beside it, and Crimson could not reproduce the combination alone. It retained a slower tightening response when another living body crossed the aperture's line.
The Mineral That Stayed — Feeding after that encounter included captured Cryvum fragments. Specialized cells dissolved limited material, carried it through vessels and precipitated thin mineral-organic reinforcement inside selected horn tips, teeth and attack tissue. The process did not supply a foreign mind or a new transit system. One damaged gland accepted the mineral unevenly and required isolation while circulation fed healthy tissue elsewhere. Crimson lost a feeding opportunity during recovery. The resulting reinforcement remained part of living growth, with compatible intake and time required to maintain it. The host's scar became a record of digestion, not a piece of machinery another civilization had fitted to its body.
The Unequal Meal — When Hollow-Sense returned to a contested feeding contact, Crimson defended its share aggressively. The attack organ received nourishment while a forward symbiotic pair and developing internal life received less. The host drove the rival from the richest region, then discovered weaker close defense around the soft margin it had left hungry. A probing opponent injured that margin before the paired colonies recovered. Crimson's victory had protected food without distributing it usefully through the body. Hollow-Sense fed elsewhere; the younger host remained with an injury that the retained meal could repair only slowly. The next feeding cycle favored circulation and dependent tissues before another full attack reserve.
The Quiet Rear — In a subsequent engagement, an attacker approached the tapering posterior as though movement depended on machinery hidden there. Crimson turned through whole-body peristaltic tension and its three ventral pulse membranes, drawing the threat across a defended flank. Symbionts responded while the main assault organ remained recovering. The maneuver preserved the host without producing a second capital strike. Heat and muscular strain reduced its next movement, forcing it to remain near kin instead of pursuing. Its quiet rear was not invulnerability; the advantage came from an opponent misunderstanding where the work occurred and from defenders still nourished enough to answer.
The Hunger Ahead — Crimson now patrols the Hollow Vein approaches with all four paired colonies active and a changed allocation of food beneath its grown shields. Hollow-Sense has begun approaching the old feeding margin without yielding first contact. Void Chorus appears intermittently with another escort pattern, while Iron Maw's smaller kin sometimes cross beyond the host's sensory reach. Crimson's next assault may open a region with enough nourishment for several bodies, but no attack can decide how they will divide it. Its dominant organ is ready; the forward pair is feeding; developing life presses against protected tissue. For the first time, the oldest rival's return does not immediately tighten the release aperture.
