Overview
Winefacet Ground Traverse is a balanced Cryvum ground combat vehicle grown from almandine-garnet crystal-metal. Paired forward attack regions, disciplined shoulder outlets and a compact launch zone support patrol and sustained multi-role fighting. A buried central stress spine links the dense body while distributed support-field states carry it close above the terrain.
Platform Profile
Dimensions & Scale
Length 80 M × Width 38 M × Height 13.4 M. Body height excludes the 1.4 M traveling hover gap. In that standard state, the top of the body is approximately 14.8 M above local ground.
Estimated operating mass: approximately 61,400 ton (metric tons). 80 × 38 × 13.4 M body envelope × assumed occupied-volume fraction 0.52 × assumed crystal-metal bulk density 2.9 ton/m³ = 61,429.888 ton, rounded to 61,400 ton. Fictional geometry and composite assumptions; the 1.4 M hover gap adds no body volume.
Weapons & Armament
A paired medium-heavy forward battery concentrates lattice-shear attack across a selected target zone. Four to six secondary grown outlets cover the shoulders, supported by a compact grouped shard or seed launch zone and several smaller point-defense apertures. Deep emitter recesses and short rooted projector growths remain continuous parts of the crystal-metal body.
Balanced output preserves reserves for longer patrols. The leading phase region remains a quiet subsurface material state at standby and concentrates resonance during combat. The vehicle has no mission-release boundary or detached mechanical weapon assembly.
External Anatomy
A thick directional front joins a deep central mass and fuller rear shoulders. Unequal elongated garnet intergrowths preserve the forward axis while broad rhombic facets turn across joined material. Dark wine roots support brown garnet-red domains and muted copper-rose turning faces, with restrained pale internal activity.
A broad low stress spine runs through roughly sixty-five percent of the body length, buried smoothly between the shoulders. The dense underside remains continuous. Protected frontal mass, flank growths and the aft steering region express vehicle functions through cultivated structure rather than assembled chassis components.
Functional Architecture
The buried spine distributes load and energy between the leading phase region, protective shoulders and rear field-bias states. Sensor bands maintain local awareness, coordinating forward attack with defensive outlets and the finite launch reserve.
Distributed underside support regions keep the body close to the terrain while internal steering states bias movement. Exchange and deployment cleavage boundaries remain closed during travel. Compatible mineral feed supports repair and reserve renewal; no ground-piercing conduits are deployed as moving support hardware.

Operational Role
A balanced main-battle and patrol vehicle for sustained local combat, route presence and flexible response. Winefacet combines useful attack, protection and travel reserves rather than specializing entirely in breakthrough assault or fixed defense. It can operate independently over a prepared patrol interval, while still depending on compatible replenishment and useful reconnaissance.
Ground Operations
Near-ground travel uses distributed internal support fields and buried rear field-bias regions. The standard traveling state holds the underside approximately 1.4 M above terrain, with local grass pressure and the shadow gap showing the vehicle's clearance.
The body has no wheels, tracks, legs, external jets or separate propulsion pods. Sustained movement requires stable field allocation and a surveyed route. This is a ground vehicle: hover clearance does not establish atmospheric flight or independent space travel.
Defense Architecture
Deep common roots, fused shoulder masses and a continuous underside protect the central reserve volume. Coordinated field redistribution can strengthen a threatened sector while smaller defensive outlets address closer attacks. The low buried spine reduces exposed structural projections.
Field support and protection share reserves. Heavy damage to an underside support region can force reduced clearance or a controlled halt. Fractures crossing the parent lattice threaten cognition and several combat systems together.
Operational Limits
Support fields, steering, protection and lattice-shear output compete for finite stored energy. Prolonged independent travel limits the reserve available for repeated heavy attack. A damaged shoulder or support trough can distort the useful attack alignment even when the central body remains intact.
Rough terrain and poorly surveyed obstacles constrain a low traveling state. The vehicle cannot cross every gap or regain lost growth instantly. It has finite launch material and does not transform hover clearance into unrestricted flight.
Strategic Strengths
Balanced attack, defense and endurance suit patrols that can become local battles without immediate refitting. A continuous low body links broad protection with useful reserve volume. Distributed field support provides a distinct Cryvum mobility system while keeping the forward combat organization readable.

History & Lineage
Universe lore · authored service history
Origin
Cultivated in the Rennath ground exchange, this Traverse matured by balancing support-field stability with forward attack. A fracture sustained during its first prolonged patrol changed the recognition rhythm of its leading phase region.
Lineage & Branch
Winefacet ground-combat branch, descended from the Winefacet Traverse cruiser growth language and adapted to planetary terrain. Almandine-garnet intergrowth retains the dark wine parent roots and oblique turning faces of the lineage while using a distinct ground scale.

Cryvum — Rennath Patrol Formation and the Low Passage reserve exchange
Individual History
Winefacet Ground Traverse first moved across the Rennath cultivation plain before its forward attack region had fully stabilized. The support lattice held the body clear of the ground while the leading phase state answered a distant exercise target. As attack output increased, a rear support region weakened and the young vehicle settled close enough to press a stone into its lower growth. The contact left a dark boundary that did not impede later motion, but made every renewed allocation between travel and attack perceptible. Rennath's witnesses called the incident an immature imbalance. Winefacet retained it as the beginning of its own recognition rhythm.
Its first prolonged patrol followed a route between mineral exchanges with no assault assigned at the end. The Traverse preserved reserves through moderate support output, keeping its exchange boundaries closed while moving. A younger companion wanted to test the forward pair against every uncertain return along the route. Winefacet instead compared the sensor band's observations across repeated intervals and found that several contacts were ordinary changes in terrain. At a genuine obstruction it halted on a stable support state and waited for a scout. The delay preserved useful energy, allowing the formation to complete the return without requesting replenishment from the exchange it had been sent to protect.
The Low Passage patrol became a battle when an attack entered the route behind the formation. Winefacet could bring the paired forward regions onto the threat, but turning immediately would expose the rear support margin beside an uneven ridge. It moved to firmer terrain, concentrated moderate lattice shear and used shoulder outlets to prevent closer contacts from reaching the lower body. The formation recovered the passage, while several attackers escaped beyond the surveyed ground. A forward growth fractured during the final exchange. The Traverse returned under its own support field with a changed attack rhythm and less reserve than the patrol plan allowed, preserving the route without claiming that every hostile body had been destroyed.
Repair witnesses proposed rebuilding the leading boundary to match the strongest neighboring crystal domain. The new material would improve continuity but overwrite a portion of the vehicle's retained Low Passage observations. Winefacet accepted structural reinforcement around the damaged root while preserving the incomplete interval under separate custody. A descent-formation witness helped distinguish repair of a viable body from recovery of everything that body had experienced. The changed lattice needed a slower attack preparation, and the patrol formation assigned another Traverse to the immediate frontier. Winefacet served a quieter return route while testing the reinforced boundary against controlled support changes.
That quieter route crossed a ground bastion's replenishment margin during a later attack warning. The bastion required mineral feed; the patrol needed enough reserve to maintain an open return. Winefacet escorted the slower supply growths toward the protected exchange and held a local defensive sector while they entered. An incoming contact forced the vehicle to divert energy from movement into shielding and shoulder fire. It lowered clearance in a controlled halt rather than attempting an unstable turn. The convoy reached the exchange, though Winefacet surrendered its intended patrol interval and remained for replenishment. The bastion's survival and the delayed frontier report became separate consequences of the same action.
Winefacet now returns to Low Passage with a reinforced leading root and a patrol plan that retains a useful halt region along each exposed segment. Its balanced body still favors sustained travel and adaptable combat rather than the extreme forward pressure of a Linebreaker. A new warning has placed the frontier formation beyond its immediate reserve range. The Traverse can reach it quickly only by reducing the return margin learned during its first patrols. Rennath has not yet provided compatible feed at the far exchange. Winefacet is carrying both the warning and that absence into its next allocation. Its field states can move a heavy body above the ground; they cannot make the ground ahead trustworthy or a depleted reserve cease to matter.
