Dimensions & Scale

Length 650 M × Width 550 M × Height 200 M. Supplied concept dimensions; width and height follow the stated design envelope rather than a perspective measurement.

Proposed operating mass: approximately 13,000,000 ton (metric tons). Fictional concept estimate based on size, structure, operating environment and reserves; not measured performance.

Weapons & Armament

The proposed signature armament is one Heavy Siege Mortar supported by four short heavy beam turrets, two armored bombardment-cell blocks and eight flush point-defense nodes. The primary mount occupies protected internal hull space, while secondary systems remain subordinate. This is a fictional game loadout for sustained capital-scale pressure, with no additional weapon groups assigned.

External Anatomy

A heavy lobed forward mass connects through reinforced structure to the central fighting body and armored stern. Broad faceted flanges and stepped collars organize the armor, with calm valleys reserved for protected working systems. Burnished bronze, patina teal and dark umber define the manufactured hull, while gunmetal marks the weapons and joints.

Functional Architecture

A low protected command section coordinates siege fire, defensive coverage and drive allocation. Proposed isolated power and loading regions support the main weapon, with maintenance access retained through broad structural valleys. Protected sensors and enclosed service routes reduce exposed hardware around the main armor masses.

Technical Specifications

Offensive rating: 88/100 — The proposed signature armament is one Heavy Siege Mortar supported by four short heavy beam turrets, two armored bombardment-cell blocks and eight flush point-defense nodes.

Defensive rating: 83/100 — Heavy armor lobes and reinforced central structure distribute combat loads around the siege system

Mobility rating: 28/100 — Six short, high-torque drive nozzles surround the compact armored stern power body

Tactical cognition rating: 67/100 — A low protected command section coordinates siege fire, defensive coverage and drive allocation

Endurance rating: 70/100 — The large armor and siege mass constrain acceleration and turning

Fleet support rating: 52/100 — Concentrated heavy fire, protected weapon foundations and substantial armor favor deliberate siege engagements

Fleet Role

Siege Monitor. Concentrated heavy fire, protected weapon foundations and substantial armor favor deliberate siege engagements. A clear primary-and-secondary weapon hierarchy supports coordinated pressure without scattering equipment across the outer hull.

Life Between Stars

Six short, high-torque drive nozzles surround the compact armored stern power body. Their role is controlled space repositioning and orientation of the heavy siege mass rather than rapid pursuit. The supplied design establishes space operations; ocean travel, planetary landing and independent interstellar transit are not specified.

Defense Architecture

Heavy armor lobes and reinforced central structure distribute combat loads around the siege system. Recessed weapon foundations protect vulnerable mechanisms, while eight flush defense nodes cover nearby threats. The monitor relies on formation support when facing fast attackers outside its preferred engagement geometry.

Operational Limits

The large armor and siege mass constrain acceleration and turning. Heavy discharge, cooling and drive demand compete for reserves, while damaged loading or power regions can interrupt the main weapon cycle. The monitor is vulnerable during repositioning and cannot maintain maximum attack and defense indefinitely.

Origin

StormHammer Siege Monitor entered service from the fictional Rethwar yards, where loading specialists and structural crews built its operating habits around the heavy siege mount and protected working valleys.

Lineage & Branch

Human StormHammer siege-monitor branch. This individual ship carries the Bronze Watch and Held Interval in its loading records, repairs and mentoring relationships.

Individual History

The Working Valleys — StormHammer Siege Monitor's first crew knew its deep protected routes before they knew its battle silhouette. Loading chief Meret Salk inspected the heavy mortar's support systems while apprentice Oren Vask learned why a ready weapon and a sustainable firing cycle were different things. Commander Darven Rel arrived expecting a ship that could hold pressure where faster vessels could not. At the Rethwar yards, structural workers made that ambition tangible through inspections and access routes. Salk's acceptance record included pauses the commander initially regarded as conservative rather than essential.

The Bronze Watch — Behind a screening formation, observers confirmed a fortified target before StormHammer made its slow orientation change. Six stern drives repositioned the heavy body while escorts secured the approach. The main siege mortar then struck the confirmed defensive region, supported by short heavy beams and protected bombardment cells. The opposing position lost part of its effective cover. StormHammer remained within the planned engagement geometry instead of advancing as quickly as the opening appeared. Its first useful success belonged to preparation, observation and the sustained effort of crews below the command section.

The Held Interval — Repeated firing required cooling. Rel wanted to exploit the damaged defense before it recovered; Salk reported that another immediate cycle risked interrupting the loading system beyond a brief pause. The monitor held defensive coverage while neighboring ships shifted position. Point-defense nodes protected close approaches and rested systems recovered. The formation resumed pressure with its siege capability intact. Vask had watched an apparent opportunity pass without the whole operation failing. The pause became a practical lesson recorded in machinery temperatures and subsequent firing readiness, rather than a captain's maxim repeated without evidence.

The Cost Below Armor — A later hit damaged a protected service route and trapped a loading team behind debris. StormHammer's armor had kept the main fighting body active, but did not make every working region safe. Vask helped establish another access path while Salk reduced the weapon cycle. One injured specialist survived and left service afterward, taking experience the crew could not replace by installing a new mechanism. Rel visited the recovering worker without requesting a return. The ship's next repair allocation included access improvements as well as restored firing capacity, delaying its deployment.

The Apprentice's Watch — During a subsequent siege, Vask managed the loading interval while Salk remained aboard as adviser. A defensive opportunity appeared between two confirmed target positions. Vask selected the cycle the crew could support and shifted secondary coverage toward the nearer threat. Rel accepted the narrower result. The main mortar disabled the exposed fortified margin, and allied movement used the opening before counterfire closed it. The monitor completed the action without another service-route emergency. Salk signed the younger specialist's readiness record, treating a successful limited choice as competence rather than reluctance.

The Ship After the Lesson — StormHammer remains a siege monitor, carrying a powerful weapon and people who know its protected interior by work rather than appearance. Salk now prepares to return to the Rethwar yards; Vask has accepted the loading-chief position. Rel's coming orders call for prolonged pressure with unfamiliar escorts, testing whether those crews will respect intervals they have not witnessed earning a victory. The veteran has offered to stay, but the younger chief asks for responsibility rather than permanent supervision. Their earned parting gives the ship a future that does not depend on keeping every experienced person aboard forever.
