Dimensions & Scale

Overall length, width, height and operating mass are not specified

04 / VESSEL RECORD

Weapons & Armament

A dominant forward strike layer establishes the interception axis. A compact guided-support layer supplies pursuit and interception munitions, with close defensive coverage around the working hull. Crystal-metal launch mouths and resonance apertures are integrated into serviceable weapon districts. Exact weapon counts, payloads and ranges are not specified; alternative missile or torpedo configurations do not imply separate full arsenals carried together.

External Anatomy

A directional wave-cutting bow expands into a low central combat body and coherent protected flanks. Dark naval plating and ordered deck districts meet pale, faceted crystal-metal ridges along the shoulders, central sensing region and stern. A substantial aft drive region carries the water-movement function. The hull's buoyant volume and continuous lower body support true displacement rather than hovering above the sea.

06 / VESSEL RECORD

Functional Architecture

Engineered naval load paths and service access organize the hull around a forward combat district, controlled sensing positions and protected stern drives

Faceted observation ridges combine ordinary contact management with lattice-based sensing. Breaking waves, disturbed water and the condition of the active crystal domains still limit what can be established.

Hydrolattice water-drive channels coordinate directional thrust and steering within the surrounding water. The stern remains a marine drive sector, without rocket exhaust or an independent spacecraft engine installation.

Separated ammunition handling, energy reserves and thermal control support repeated short interception tasks. Compatible mechanical parts and mineral feedstock sustain repairs; the HC body does not use Bugvex circulation, brood organs or neural tissue.

Fleet Role

Light sea-surface interception, pursuit, flank screening and anti-raider work. Prismwake makes a fast approach along a chosen attack axis, protects a defined route or transfer, and disengages before a light patrol body becomes committed beyond its recovery margin.

09 / VESSEL RECORD

Maritime Operations

Sea-surface operations through true displacement. The hull floats in the water and uses protected marine propulsion with agile steering. Waves, wake interaction and the condition of the water-drive sectors govern movement. Hovering, underwater patrol and independent spaceflight are not assigned.

10 / VESSEL RECORD

Defense Architecture

Controlled hull organization protects useful internal volume, ammunition access and the drive region. Crystal-metal roots reinforce selected load paths and armor domains, while compact local defense addresses immediate threats. Repair requires an intact working interface, compatible material and energy; a stabilized fracture does not restore every damaged system at once.

11 / VESSEL RECORD

Operational Limits

A light hull and finite weapon stores favor short, purposeful engagements. Heavy seas can obscure contacts and place new loads on an already damaged steering region. A long pursuit may consume the reserve needed for return or recovery. Crystal reconstruction requires feedstock and cannot replace spent munitions or recover another individual's missing experience.

12 / VESSEL RECORD

Strategic Strengths

A coherent displacement hull, clear forward attack organization and protected stern propulsion support fast surface response. Engineered access and lattice condition monitoring make it possible to distinguish a weapon-ready body from one whose navigation or repair margin is already compromised.

13 / TACTICAL PROFILE

Capability Assessment

The relative profile emphasizes mobility and coordinated surface interception. Protection and attack remain those of a light specialist rather than a capital combatant. Its Human-derived engineering and Cryvum-derived crystal-metal function as one Meldaen architecture; fusion ancestry neither supplies an automatic faction alliance nor guarantees superior performance across every axis.

History & Lineage

Universe lore · authored service history

Origin

Differentiated at the Eshavel tideworks as an HC patrol body for the exposed Nareth supply approaches. This individual's service record became bound to the interception of the repair tender Selith and the consequences of treating a living record of identity as a closed salvage entry.

Lineage & Branch

HC — Human + Cryvum. Engineered naval organization and computational coordination join crystal-metal structure and lattice awareness. Bugvex tissues, brood systems and biological neural regulation are absent. Its seed-born Meldaen ancestry remains distinct from allegiance to either original civilization.

Fleet or Unit

Meldaen — Eshavel tideworks surface-watch lineage, serving the Nareth outer supply approaches. The patrol coordinator Veyra Strand arranges bounded screening assignments; shared work with other Meldaen subtypes does not make their bodies or repair requirements interchangeable.

Individual History

Prismwake Vanguard Surface Interceptor differentiated at the Eshavel tideworks while the Nareth supply watch was losing small material movements between its larger patrols. Its first trials emphasized a full turn after acceleration, with enough reserve to recover a useful surface position. Prismwake preferred the outward run: the water-drive channels answered coherently, its forward apertures settled and scattered returns resolved into a direction. Patrol coordinator Veyra Strand gave it a less satisfying assignment. It would check the identities of slow traffic, not merely demonstrate how quickly it could overtake them. Prismwake accepted because it wanted an individual service record rather than another successful trial curve.

The repair tender Selith became that record's first disputed interception. It departed an outer berth carrying cultivated mineral stock after the tideworks had marked its hull for dismantling. The dispatch described an unauthorized material removal and instructed Prismwake to stop it before the weather broke. Selith answered the challenge in its own name. It said the cargo included its working memory domains, still mounted through the older hull's repair districts, and requested passage to another growth berth. The dispatch classified that reply as an obsolete service identity. Prismwake trusted the current order over an unfamiliar voice and accelerated across Selith's intended route.

Selith refused the stopping position. Prismwake used its forward strike layer against an exposed drive linkage, expecting a disabled tender that could be taken under tow. The strike worked. It also opened a neighboring crystal support to seawater while the tender was already turning across a rising swell. Selith's replies began losing their order. Its outer service volume held more than replaceable feedstock, and Prismwake now had a motionless body whose ability to answer was degrading. It reported the damage without calling the attack clean. The accurate interception entry it had wanted no longer described the thing it had actually done.

Veyra requested recovery of the tender and its consignment to the original berth. A return through the exposed approach would preserve the tideworks' claim but delay stabilization of Selith's active domains. Prismwake chose a sheltered receiving point and asked its local attendants to prepare compatible support. The change left another supply movement outside its assigned screen. During the tow, Prismwake reversed its stern output to keep the disabled hull from turning broadside across a damaging wave. The maneuver fractured a steering-root support. It retained control at reduced output, having traded the mobility that defined its role for a return it could no longer complete alone.

At the receiving point, attendants could stabilize Selith's conducting paths if they had suitable mineral stock immediately. The disputed cargo could be used, but taking it apart first risked disturbing the remaining active domains. Prismwake released its own compatible repair reserve instead. That stock had been allocated to restoring its damaged steering root. A neighboring patrol escorted it home at reduced readiness while the receiving attendants preserved the tender's surviving awareness. Selith retained its name and much of its work, but could not recover every interval around the strike. Prismwake could replace material later. It could not give back a remembered refusal that its own weapon had helped erase.

The tideworks review upheld Prismwake's duty to investigate the departure and rejected the description of the event as recovered stolen material. Selith had not agreed to the dismantling of its active identity with its worn hull. Veyra accepted the receiving point's evidence and recorded the uncovered supply movement beside the successful recovery. Prismwake's next pursuit assignment went to another body while it waited for replacement stock and completed repairs. Selith asked to inspect the strike report, including the moment Prismwake had decided that a current dispatch was a better witness than the body answering it. The request remained uncomfortable even after both could communicate reliably.

Prismwake now returns to the Nareth watch with an irregularly faceted steering support and a standing promise to escort Selith to its review berth. The tender wants its remaining hull work returned, while the tideworks wants compensation for the lost service interval and depleted stocks. A recovered dispatch fragment suggests that a withdrawal of the dismantling instruction reached an intermediate relay before Selith sailed, but its final delivery cannot yet be confirmed. Prismwake has preserved the fragment without declaring itself absolved. Its next interception will still require speed, a clear forward approach and an order it can act upon. It has learned that arriving first does not make its account of another body the last word.
